Student Organization Allocation Committee (SOAC) Member

The Student Organization Allocation Committee, or SOAC, gives students the opportunity to make a direct impact on the CU ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ community by reviewing and voting on funding requests from registered student organizations.

SOAC members help ensure that student fee dollars are allocated fairly, responsibly, and transparently to support events, programs, and initiatives that enrich campus life. This role is ideal for students who are thoughtful, impartial, and committed to supporting a vibrant and inclusive student experience.

Director of Diversity and Inclusion

The Director of Diversity and Inclusion leads CUSG’s Diversity and Inclusion Department and works closely with student organizations, campus leaders, and the Division of Student Affairs to advocate for underrepresented students.

This role focuses on elevating student concerns, addressing campus climate issues, supporting accessibility efforts, and promoting values of social justice, queer inclusivity, antiracism, and economic justice within CU Student Government.

Students passionate about advocacy, equity, and building a more inclusive campus community are encouraged to apply.

Director of Strategic Communications

The Director of Strategic Communications manages CUSG’s public image, marketing efforts, and communications strategy. This role helps promote CUSG events, programs, and initiatives while strengthening the organization’s brand and reputation across campus.

The Director also serves as CUSG’s Press Secretary by drafting press releases, coordinating media relations, and supporting communication between CUSG and the broader CU ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ community.

This position is a great fit for students interested in marketing, media, graphic design, social media, and public relations.

Tri-Executive Aide

Tri-Executive Aides work closely with one of the Tri-Executives to support projects, meetings, events, research, and daily executive branch responsibilities.

Aides help schedule meetings, attend CUSG events, draft memos, follow up on executive initiatives, and assist with tasks that keep the executive branch organized and effective.

This role is ideal for students who are professional, organized, dependable, and interested in working closely with CUSG leadership.

Director of Finance

The Director of Finance manages and monitors CUSG Proper’s financial operations, including tracking expenditures, preparing reports, supporting payroll tracking, and making recommendations on the responsible use of student fee dollars.

This role also prepares budget requests, quarterly reports, and an annual budget to support the long-term success of CU Student Government.

Students with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and an interest in finance, budgeting, accounting, or Excel are encouraged to apply.

Director of Legal Affairs

The Director of Legal Affairs supports the Tri-Executives by tracking current events, legislative issues, and government affairs that affect CU ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ students.

This role includes writing legislation, supporting lobbying efforts, co-chairing the Legislative Affairs Commission, planning CU Lobbying Days, and building relationships with ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ and Colorado political leaders.

This position is ideal for students interested in law, policy, advocacy, legislative affairs, and strengthening the relationship between students and local government.

Intern Director

The Intern Director oversees the CUSG Executive Cabinet intern program and serves as the main point of contact for interns throughout the year.

This role works with directors to hire interns, create meaningful projects, track intern progress, and help interns get involved in CUSG events, initiatives, and campus opportunities.

Students with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, especially those with prior CUSG experience, are encouraged to apply.

Director of Student Engagement

The Director of Student Engagement leads efforts to connect students and student organizations with CU Student Government.

This role manages outreach events, gathers student input, supports collaboration between CUSG and student organizations, and works with the Center for Student Involvement to make funding, event planning, and outreach more accessible.

This position is a great fit for students who are passionate about campus involvement, student advocacy, and building stronger connections across the CU ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ community.
