CU Collects: Imagining a Creative Campus

July 7, 2026–Spring 2027

Campus collections gather and preserve objects that ignite research and inspire creativity. In CU Collects: Imagining a Creative Campus, works from the CU Art Museum and the University Libraries and Archives highlight the breadth of artistic and creative materials held across campus. Built with care over time, these collections are accessible to students, faculty and to communities in the Front Range and beyond. Together, they demonstrate the central role of arts and culture at CU ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½, addressing a shared history of inquiry and engagement.

Celebrating the 150th anniversary of CU ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½, this exhibition presents a selection of works from across campus collections, inviting new avenues for discovery, study, and connection. As these creative holdings continue to grow, staff, faculty, and students remain committed to broadening the stories they collect and share. The objects on view speak to the pressing issues and values of their time while also pointing toward the aspirations we hold for the future.

This exhibition is curated by Megan Friedel, Assistant Professor, Head of Distinctive Collections & Institutional Memory, and Lead Archivist for the CU ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Libraries, and by Hope Saska, Director of the CU Art Museum.
