Graduation Deadlines

July 10

Deadline for SLHS-MA students graduating in August to update diploma name and address in the Buff Portal.

July 14

Doctoral students graduating in August must complete the PhD dissertation defense or final examination by this date. Notice of the examination must be provided to the Graduate School using the doctoral final examination form two weeks before the exam, a minimum of two weeks (but no more than 4 weeks) before the exam.

July 21

PhD students graduating in August must submit the dissertation with Thesis Approval Form (TAF) to ProQuest by this deadline. The dissertation must be for review and approval by Graduate School staff by the end of the business day. The single page TAF must be uploaded as a supplemental file with the dissertation in order for the submission to be complete. Students whose dissertations are received after this deadline, or those not submitted with the TAF, must apply to graduate at the following semester's commencement.

July 21

PhD and DMA students graduating in August must fill out the online by this deadline. Learn more about the survey on the .

July 27

Grade changes for doctoral graduates must be submitted for incomplete courses taken during previous or current semesters.

July 28

Master's students graduating in August must complete the thesis defense or final examination by this date. Notice of the examination must be provided to the Graduate School using the master's final examination form two weeks before the exam. Certain units do not require an exam for non-thesis students. Please contact your department with any questions.

鈥淗ow would you describe yourself?鈥 It鈥檚 a simple question that can feel surprisingly difficult to answer鈥攚hether in an interview, networking conversation or everyday life. Our identities, habits and behaviors shape the image we project and the confidence we carry into the world. In this interactive intensive, participants will explore how identity, environment and behavior influence confidence, resilience and decision-making. Attendees will leave with practical strategies to build internal trust, define personal values and strengthen authentic self-confidence.听

Do you have a to-do list (or several) but have difficulty getting yourself to do what鈥檚 on that list? Do you start your day with the best intentions, but end dissatisfied with how little was accomplished? Join Stacy Gerberich, CAPS embedded therapist for the Graduate School, for a skills-based workshop on the psychology of starting and finishing any task. Together, we will explore tools for rekindling your motivation and avoiding the pitfalls of self-sabotage as you pursue your graduate degree and other goals. Lunch will be provided to those that RSVP by July 17.
